If people ask what Church is about, there can be so many answers, and one of them is community. Today we took part in a community event, organised by the East Coseley Big Local. The weather in the morning was dreadful, and I had thought it would be a washout, but luckily for us the weather improved, and the sun shone down on us. We had a stall at the funday to get to know the local community, and had the Church open so people could pop in to visit and spend a few quiet moments. Of course position is everything, and so i had to make sure that we had a good spot, in the background was the bouncy castle, but more important was what was opposite us
Yes, straight opposite the BBQ, run by two of the local PCSO's.
We had a number of people come to talk to us about the Church, themselves and the local community, people who had passed the church every day of their working lives and never stepped inside. Well today many of them did, even if for just a look around.
I'd like to thank Neil Langford of the East Coseley Big Local for inviting us to take part, and I look forward to us being a presence at many more community events.
